Gov. Kemp announced that the Georgia World Congress Center will reopen Monday for coronavirus patients.

ATLANTA, GA — Governor Brain Kemp announced Friday the Georgia World Congress Center will open up on Monday as a temporary coronavirus treatment location.

It will provide an additional 60 beds at first and have a total capacity of 120 beds.

“As part of our strategic plan to expand surge capacity in Georgia, we are re-opening the Georgia World Congress Center,” Kemp said. “These additional hospital beds will provide relief to surrounding healthcare facilities while providing top notch care for patients. My administration is laser-focused on expanding hospital surge capacity while working to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Georgia.”
