Girl Scouts of Atlanta To Honor Soon Mee Kim of Porter Novelli
Award Winning Diversity Champion To Accept The Coveted "Changing The World" Award at the Second Century Breakfast

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is excited to announce this year’s “Changing The World” honoree, Soon Mee Kim, Executive Vice President and Global Diversity and Inclusion Leader for Porter Novelli, a division of Omnicom Public Relations Group. Kim will be honored at the 7th Annual Second Century Breakfast on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. Girl Scouts annually honors an honoree who exemplifies the Girl Scout mission of courage, confidence and character.
In 2018, PR Week and the PR Council named Kim the “Agency Diversity Champion of the Year”. Kim
initiated an industry-wide diversity pledge and today chairs the PR Council’s newly formed diversity community. In addition, she currently serves on a variety of boards, including: ColorComm, a business community for women of color in communications; Synchronicity Theatre, a bold theatre focused on uplifting the voices of women and girls and is an is an active volunteer with GAIN, Leadership Atlanta and Atlanta Magazine. Kim passionately advocates for women and girls to seek equality in the workplace and community. She is a proud Girl Scout Alumna who is a true example of Girl Scout G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, and Leader).

This year’s Second Century Breakfast is hosted by honorary chair Curley M. Dossman, Vice President of Community Affairs, Georgia Pacific and President of the Georgia Pacific Foundation. The event is co- chaired by Michelle C. Wells, Lead Medical Physicist for Piedmont Cancer and Carol Dillon Kissal, Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Emory University.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta launched our Second Century Circle major giving society to carry on the mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Contributions from this influential group of community leaders play a vital role in helping every girl fulfill her potential. Corporate members are recognized at $10,000 or more and individuals at $1,000 or more.
Members of the Second Century Circle have contributed to the outreach and financial assistance of more than 10,000 at-risk girls in Greater Atlanta, training for 16,000 adult volunteers, and scholarships for Girl Scout Gold Award winners (the highest achievement in Girl Scouting). The Second Century Circle is the giving society of the most generous and community-minded investors who make girls a philanthropic priority.
