CeeLo Green and surprise guests to perform
The GreenHouse Foundation will host a festive evening of
music, dinner, dancing, and signature cocktails at its first annual GreenHeart Holiday Gala at
6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Founded by Grammy-award winning artist CeeLo
Green and his sister, Shedonna Alexander, GreenHouse’s mission is to educate children in
disadvantaged and underserved communities about the overall values and economic
possibilities of green living and agriculture. Proceeds from the star-studded event will fund
ongoing outreach and help expand the organization’s programming with partner schools across
metro Atlanta.
Hosted by WSB-TV anchor Jovita Moore, the gala will take place at the Gathering Spot, 384
Northyards Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30313. The event will feature performances by CeeLo Green and
FOX TV’s Empire actress, V. Bozeman as well as music by Grammy Award winner DJ “KP The Great.” As part of the celebration, GreenHouse Foundation will also honor a notable group of community champions

In keeping a strong family tradition of community service and philanthropy, Green and
Alexander created the organization to continue the legacy of their late grandmother, Ruby
Callaway Robinson. A longtime activist, Robinson created CASCADE, a national nonprofit
organization dedicated to remedying the negative impact of drug use among youth. In 2016,
Callanwolde named a greenhouse in her honor. The organization also honors their late mother
Sheila J. Callaway, an ordained minister and one of the first African-American female firefighters
in Atlanta, Georgia.
“The GreenHouse Foundation not only educates children on how to grow their own food, but
also how that food can be used as an economic engine,” said Alexander. “Ultimately, we hope to
help end the cycle of poverty that tends to be prevalent in urban communities across the US by
teaching our kids the power of green living. By giving them the tools they need, we can affect
long-term change.”
In addition to teaching youth how to create a safer, healthier and more sustainable planet,
GreenHouse offers scholarships to students interested pursuing careers in agriculture or
sustainability. To date, the Foundation has served over 300 children at various schools
throughout metro Atlanta.
