Gunman Sought After Georgia State Shootout
The shooting, near a campus parking deck, came just hours before GSU students returned for the first day of fall semester classes.

ATLANTA, GA — Police are asking for help finding a man involved in a late-night shootout with police at Georgia State University just hours before students reported for the first day of fall classes.
Georgia State Police were called at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday to suspected drug activity in a stairwell of the University Commons parking deck in downtown Atlanta. Three suspects ran away from the officers, according to police.
They were able to catch up with a male suspect, who they say fired shots at police and, later, tried to hijack a student's vehicle which was parked nearby. Two GSU officers returned fire, but police do not believe anyone was hit.
