Hangman-Like Noose Used in Murder

An Atlanta man has been convicted of a 2012 murder.

ATLANTA, GA -- A metro Atlanta man has been found guilty of strangling another man to death in 2012.

Jerome Foster, 57, was sentenced to life in prison without parole by a Fulton County jury last week.

On August 18, 2012, Kenneth Scott's truck was destroyed by fire in Hampton, GA. Six days later, his body was found in Fairburn, GA. Police found a belt tied around his neck in a noose-like fashion less than five miles from the victim’s place of employment.

Once detectives began their investigation, they quickly eyed Jerome Foster as a suspect. Phone records indicated he was the last person to call the victim. The two were acquainted through their place of employment.

When brought in for questioning Foster revealed he and another man, Andrew Bell, planned to rob Scott, who had just received his monthly check from his longtime employer. Foster admitted he participated in the robbery of nearly $1,000 but told detectives Bell was responsible for the murder.
