Here Are GA's Top 10 Safest Cities, Study Says
Overall, Georgia had a strong showing with low rates in both violent and property crime.
A new study examines the safest cities in every state in the country, including in Georgia.
The rankings from Safewise "are intended to highlight cities with low per capita crime and ignite conversation and action around how to make all cities and communities safer," the company said.
In Georgia, the analysis found that the safest community is Senoia. The Coweta County town was one of multiple locations where the "Fried Green Tomatoes" motion picture was filmed, and it also set the backdrop for the popular "The Walking Dead" series.

Overall, Georgia fared well in the study. The violent crime rate in the Peach State is 3.42 incidents per 1,000 people, which is lower than the national average of 4.43.
Property crime has decreased slightly in recent years, dropping from 20.6 incidents per 1,000 people in 2024 to 19.76 incidents in this year's report. That's lower than the national property crime rate of 22.89.
On the contrary, only 34 percent of Georgians year over year feel safe; a 2 percent decline from 2024.
"This is the second lowest percentage nationwide. Only New Mexicans feel less safe in their state," Safewise reported.
The number one way Georgia residents protect their property is with security cameras at 56 percent followed by guard dogs at 40 percent.
