ATLANTA, GA — Romance is in the air in Atlanta, the fourth-most romantic city in the U.S., according to a recent study.

Shane Co., a top distributor of fine jewelry, has named 15 U.S. cities it considers to be the most romantic based on the cost of a three-course meal for two and marriage rates by state.

Metrics also included the number of romantic restaurants and hotels, search volumes for romance-related terms, the number of florists and jewelry stores per capita.

Overall, here is how Atlanta performed:

  • Romantic restaurants: 142
  • Romantic hotels: 17
  • Average cost of a three-course meal for two: $100
  • Marriage rate (state-level): 5.90
  • Romantic searches - Google search volume: 11,670
  • Number of florists: 75
  • Number of jewelry Stores: 98

While Las Vegas is known as the "Wedding Capital of the World," Atlanta offers several wedding venues for a couple's nuptials.

These include The Estate Atlanta, Wedgewood Weddings and Events, Ashton Gardens and the Piedmont Room.

Before the "I Do," couples can honor their love and get engaged at the Georgia Aquarium, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Buckhead Club or City Winery Atlanta.
