How to Get Paid in the Television Industry

Atlanta Professionals Host Workshop for Aspiring Artists On Breaking Into TV Industry

ATLANTA, Feb. 21, 2019 — Breaking into the TV industry is more than just lucking out at an audition. There are branding endorsements, legal contracts, accounting, tax liabilities and more. These are a few focus areas that this celebrity workshop panel will cover from 6:30-8:30 p.m. EST, on Thu., Feb. 21, at 1201 West Peachtree Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30309.

Special TV guests for Thursday’s workshop panel include Mike Merrill from “Last Squad Standing” (Oxygen Network) and “The Bobby Brown Story” miniseries (BET). Joining him will be Angel Frank and Devan Dunson from “Ready to Love” (OWN Network).

Panel hosts include inspirational public speaker Brandon J. Wigley; business and entertainment attorney Johnetta G. Paye, Esq.; accountant DeNisha Gray of Gray Financial Services; and stylist Angel Marie. Avery Brown, an event sponsor from Brown Media Group, will also be on-hand to discuss brand, digital and influencer marketing strategies.

“Establishing yourself in the entertainment industry can be challenging,” said Paye. “It’s not just putting your face on TV. Before you take on any project, understand your brand. Be careful that your personal and professional brands stay consistent as a TV personality. Read the fine print before the cameras roll. Know what the legal implications are before signing any contract—or have trusted professionals around you who can do so.”

These are but a few snippets of advice that will be offered during the two-hour workshop. In addition to a panel of celebrities, influencers and experts, there will also be mini-image consultations and networking opportunities.
