Inmate Escapes Georgia Prison, 'Don't Approach' Say Police

Authorities are searching for a male inmate who has escaped the Smith Transitional Center. He was severing several sentences.

CLAXTON, GA — An inmate has escaped from Smith Transitional Center in Claxton, Georgia, according to 11 Alive. Authorities are searching for Talawrence Vickers who was born in 1986 and is listed as 5'8" and weighs around 195 pounds.

"Do not approach, call 911," a tweet from Georgia Corrections said.

Smith was serving several sentences after being convicted of robbery, theft and burglary charges in Fulton County, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records.
