Jackson Police Officer Shot; Released From Hospital
Police are still searching for the alleged gunman who shot the officer shortly after midnight.

JACKSON, GA — A Jackson police officer who was shot overnight has been released from a local hospital.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which has taken over the case, says Officer Sherry Hall was patrolling the northern end of the city when she came upon a man sitting near the side of Camelia Court.
As she approached the man, the GBI says the man pulled a gun and shot Hall in the abdomen area of her body armor. Hall returned fire but the subject fled.

Hall was taken to the Medical Center in Macon with non-life threatening injuries.
The subject is described as a black male, in his late 20s-30’s, between 5’ 8” and 6’ tall, and 230-240 pounds.

Jackson is a city in middle Georgia, about halfway between Atlanta and Macon on I-75.
