Jennifer Hudson Films Scenes Of Aretha Biopic At Atlanta Church

ATLANTA, GA — Production crews were spotted Tuesday in Atlanta filming inside scenes for the new biopic on Aretha Franklin that Jennifer Hudson stars in, reports WXIA. They were at First Congregational Church of Atlanta setting up lights.

Someone shared a photo with the station of crews working on Courtland Street, near Georgia Tech. Equipment trucks and trailers were also seen.

Other stars who will appear along Hudson are Marlon Wayans, Forrest Whitaker, Audra McDonald, Titus Burges, and Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige. Two weeks ago, Hudson posted a photo of her and Wayans who plays Franklin’s first husband, Ted White.

Filming has also taken place at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
