Jimmy Carter Recovering After Brain Surgery Tuesday Morning

ATLANTA, GA — Former President Jimmy Carter is out of surgery and recovering at Emory University Hospital, The Carter Center announced Tuesday. According to the center, there were no complications from the surgery due to a subdural hematoma.

"President Carter will remain in the hospital as long as advisable for observation," the center shared in a statement on Twitter. "President and Mrs. Carter thank everyone for the many well-wishes they have received."

On Monday Carter was admitted to Emory University Hospital to have the procedure done that would relieve the pressure on his brain caused by bleeding from his recent falls, The Carter Center announced.
