Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta Is Keeping Kids Connected, Active & Engaged This Summer

(Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta)

Although Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta locations are temporarily closed due to COVID-19, through the community's support, we are continuing to provide critical resources and services to kids and teens. Check out all the ways we are serving families this summer!

Keeping Kids Connected, Active, and Engaged

On June 1, we launched “The Club” – a virtual space where youth can connect, create, and collaborate. Each week, trained and trusted Boys & Girls Club staff will host live programs such as recess and cooking classes, as well as on-demand programs such as music making and virtual field trips. All virtual programming will be 100% free of charge. Members just need a smartphone, laptop, or tablet to participate. Check out our calendar and sign up today!

In addition to offering virtual programs, our staff is virtually connecting with Club kids and teens through Club Zoom. We are here to provide a safe place for youth to talk and ask questions. Through fun, play, and connection, this will be a space to heal together!

We aren’t going fully virtual! We’ll be connecting with Club kids and families in real life too - social distance style. Through Club Connect, we will be launching events and activities like our mobile party bus, drive thru birthday parties, family picnics, parades and much more!

Our partners have stepped up to provide the supplies we need to serve our kids and families! From Newell Brands, we received 3 semi-trucks full of art and school supplies like crayons, markers, staplers, pens and more! From Good Sports, we secured more than $168,000 worth of sports equipment and gear like jerseys, hula hoops, and jump ropes to keep kids active at home. From Home Depot, we received tons of paint kits for kids. From Microsoft, we secured laptop covers, tablet covers, and Xbox apparel. We are so thankful and can’t wait to share these resources with families all summer long!
