ATLANTA, GA — The Josh Donaldson era looks to be over in Atlanta.

Donaldson, the free agent third baseman, has agreed to a four-year deal with the Minnesota Twins, sources told ESPN.

The three-time All-Star and 2015 American League MVP resurrected his career during his single season in Atlanta. Donaldson took part in 155 games during the 2019 season, which is almost three-times more than the amount of games he played in during 2018.

The slugger produced an impressive 37 home runs and 94 RBIs for a Braves team that won 97 games.

Donaldson, who signed a one-year, $23 million deal last winter, helped Atlanta take an impressive step forward in the 2019 season. He made a fearsome duo with franchise leader Freddie Freeman, and the Braves will undoubtedly struggle to replace Donaldson's bat in 2020.

Donaldson, who grew up as a Braves fan in Alabama, joins a Minnesota Twins team that already has five players who hit 30 home runs or more last season.

As of Wednesday, Donaldson still has a picture of his Atlanta Braves jersey and a map of Georgia set for his Twitter profile and cover photos.
