Free-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

ATLANTA, GA — The Josh Donaldson era looks to be over in Atlanta.
Donaldson, the free agent third baseman, has agreed to a four-year deal with the Minnesota Twins, sources told ESPN.
Third baseman Josh Donaldson’s four-year contract with the Twins is for $92 million, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN. The deal, as @Ken_Rosenthal said, has a fifth-year option to get to $100 million.

The three-time All-Star and 2015 American League MVP resurrected his career during his single season in Atlanta. Donaldson took part in 155 games during the 2019 season, which is almost three-times more than the amount of games he played in during 2018.

The slugger produced an impressive 37 home runs and 94 RBIs for a Braves team that won 97 games.
Donaldson, who signed a one-year, $23 million deal last winter, helped Atlanta take an impressive step forward in the 2019 season. He made a fearsome duo with franchise leader Freddie Freeman, and the Braves will undoubtedly struggle to replace Donaldson's bat in 2020.

Donaldson, who grew up as a Braves fan in Alabama, joins a Minnesota Twins team that already has five players who hit 30 home runs or more last season.
