Lightning, Gusty Winds To Hit GA Amid Storms
Here is when showers and thunderstorms are expected to slam Georgia on Wednesday.
Showers and storms are set to hit north and central Georgia on Wednesday, possibly bringing with them frequent lightning and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
Georgians living in these regions can expect to receive the storms between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. The rainfall will not be severe, the NWS reported.
A weak area of low pressure has pushed onshore, bringing scattered showers to parts of North Georgia, FOX Atlanta said.

Weather officials say Wednesday is the "best (but still low) chance" for downpour in the next several days.
The remainder of the week is shaping up to be sunny in the day and partly cloudy at nightfall, according to the NWS forecast.

Temperatures will toggle between highs in the low 90s and early 80s and lows in the high 60s.

Today: A slight chance of showers before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 66. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
