Lightning-Producing Storms To Slam GA
Valentine's Day weekend is looking dreary with storms expected to roll into Georgia. See when to expect these storms.
Incoming storms may dampen Valentine's Day weekend, with forecasters saying the most severe threat could be lightning.
Patch on Thursday spoke with Sid King, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office. He said rain could come down "everywhere" in north and central Georgia, including in Atlanta.
Clouds may start moving in Saturday afternoon, but King said downpour is not expected until around 10 p.m. The rainfall may continue into Sunday, possibly to the dismay of morning churchgoers.

The isolated to scattered storms could continue throughout Sunday and may not clear out until Monday morning.
Some areas may experience up to 2.5 inches of rainfall, with others seeing an inch or 1.5 inches, King said. Specific areas could not be pinpointed as of late Thursday morning, but he added the most significant rainfall will pour into towns facing multiple storms.

The heaviest of the rain will drop in the mountains before venturing into central Georgia. There is a chance for lightning with the storms.
Gusty winds may be occasional, but as of Thursday, they were not expected to be severe.
Anyone celebrating the day for love can feel high temperatures of 65 degrees and lows of 40 degrees Saturday. King said Sunday's will be 50 degrees, and the high will be 62 degrees.
