Lil' Wayne To Bring New 'Welcome To Tha Carter Tour' To Atlanta

The show will be hosted at the Tabernacle in April.

ATLANTA, GA — The fireman is bringing his "Welcome to Tha Carter Tour" to Atlanta in April.

Dwayne "Lil' Wayne" Carter, who also calls himself Lil' Tunechi, will hit the Tabernacle stage at 8 p.m., April 22. Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday on Ticketmaster for the 28-city North American tour.

The iconic rapper is launching the tour alongside his music label, Young Money, and Rolling Loud. It kicks off on April 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will wrap up on May 13 in Los Angeles, California.

Lil' Wayne will also make a stop in Toronto, Canada.

He was one of three recipients given the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the Recording Academy's Black Music Collective event Thursday night in Los Angeles, according to the Associated Press. Other musical legends who received the award were Missy Elliott and Dr. Dre.

The event was hosted as part of the Grammy Awards, which will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Lil Wayne is featured on producer DJ Khaled's "God Did," which is nominated for three Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Lil' Wayne has had three No. 1 hits, 25 Top 25 hits and 183 songs enter Billboard's Hot 100 charts.
