Georgia Little Leaguers Beat Texas In Dramatic, Walk-Off Fashion

The Peachtree City American Little League team rallied back to beat Post Oak, out of Houston, on Monday in an elimination game.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Georgia roared back to beat Texas in dramatic fashion Monday thanks to a clutch home run to tie the game and an extra-innings walk-off to win it. Down two runs in the final inning of regulation, Peachtree City slugger Jansen Kenty — who has been one of the team's best players throughout the tournament — came through when his teammates needed him most, blasting a two-run home run to to left-center field tie the game and give them a second life. The game would continue into the 9th inning, when Wills Maginnis singled on the first pitch of the at-bat to score a run and keep Peachtree City (2-1) alive.

Post Oak (1-2), out of Houston, has been eliminated from the tournament. The game was played at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Peachtree City, representing the Southeast region, dropped its first game of the tournament against the boys from Hawaii, but staved off elimination by beating a tough Idaho team 3-0 on Saturday.

Texas, representing the Southwest region, defeated Rhode Island in its first game but then lost its second game 2-1 to New York on Sunday.

Peachtree City will go on to play Michigan on Tuesday.
