Local Gas Prices Jump As Holiday Approaches

ATLANTA, GA — If you checked local gas-station signs on your way to work this morning, you may have noticed the price for a gallon is higher than it has been lately just ahead of the Easter holiday weekend.
Gas generally is going for $1.95 to $2.00 a gallon across the Atlanta metro area today. If you're lucky, you'll find one of the very few spots selling for $1.95.
Yesterday's average in metro Atlanta was $1.89. Metro Atlanta's average is now at $1.99 a gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. A year ago this spring, we were paying $$2.25 a gallon.
Georgia's current gas average is $2.25.
