Man Accused Of Shooting Into Atlanta Home With Rifle
Police released Thursday bodycam footage of the man's arrest.
ATLANTA, GA — A man is facing charges after Atlanta Police said he shot several times into an occupied home near Mary and Smith streets Saturday.
Police said Thursday a patrol officer saw a man dressed in all black, wearing ballistic body armor and armed with a rifle shoot into the home. There were no injuries, police said.
The officer began to follow the man, who was on foot, and the man tried to flee after noticing the officer, police said. The officer was able to track the man as he attempted to hide between two homes in the 1000 block of McDaniel Street, police said.

A motive in the shooting is unknown.
Malik Chatman was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
