Man Convicted Of Shooting Pregnant Girlfriend, Killing Her, Baby

Reginald Jones physically abused Faith Bittinger throughout their entire relationship.

ATLANTA -- A man has been convicted of shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the chest in 2017, murdering both her and the couple's unborn child. Reginald Jones, 27, was found guilty of murder on Friday in a Fulton County Superior Court.

On July 8, 2017, around 6 pm, Faith Bittinger, 23, called a friend and revealed details of her abusive relationship with Jones. Bittinger said she intended to leave Jones and end the relationship as a result of the abuse. However, Jones had previously warned Bittinger if she ever tried to leave him, he would kill her.

Later that evening after Bittinger made that admission to her friend, Jones stood over Bittinger, in the bedroom of their shared apartment on Camp Creek Parkway in College Park, and shot her in the chest. Bittinger was two weeks pregnant with Jones’ child when he shot her. Bittinger and the unborn baby both died. When police responded to the scene, Jones said Bittinger shot herself but later admitted to shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the chest. Police also noticed that Bittinger’s neck, lower back, and thighs contained severe purple and brown markings normally found in physical abuse cases.
