Man Found Guilty Of Assaulting Two Gay Men With Scalding Water
Martin Blackwell was found guilty of intentionally scalding two gay men while they slept in his then-girlfriend's apartment.

ATLANTA, GA — An Atlanta man was found guilty on Wednesday of assaulting two gay when he threw scalding hot water on the couple as they slept.
According to the Fulton County DA's office, Martin Blackwell was found guilty on 10 counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
On February 12, 2016, Blackwell took boiling hot water into the room of his girlfriend’s son, who was asleep with his boyfriend. Then, the defendant allegedly threw the scalding hot water upon the two victims.

Both Anthony Gooden Jr. and Marquez Tolbert suffered second and third degree burns.
Blackwell could receive a sentence to serve up to 80 years in prison.

Gooden and Tolbert have undergone several extensive surgeries and treatments since the attack.
At the time, Blackwell was the boyfriend of Gooden's mother, Kim Foster.
