Here are the top three stories today in Atlanta:

1. Mariah Carey has purchased a $5.5 million mansion in metro Atlanta. The famous Grammy award-winning artist is the proud new owner of a 16,000-square-foot mansion on Davis Drive. The deal reportedly closed in November 2021 and the home was previously owned by 855 Davis Drive LLC. (11Alive.com WXIA)
2. An Atlanta business has been slapped with a $43 million verdict in a trademark dispute. Atlanta's Dewberry Group has been ordered to pay the amount to Atlanta's Dewberry Engineers, Inc. According to the federal judge, the Dewberry Group used four separate infringing marks and sought federal trademarks on them from Dewberry Engineers, Inc. (Law.com)
3. The Atlanta Police Department reports that the suspicious package found on Atlanta's Beltline was nothing to worry about. The department responded to the area near Edgewood Avenue northeast after receiving reports of an unattended backpack. The department was able to locate the bag but found it to be empty.
