MARTA Police Shoot Suspect Accused Of Stabbing Officer, 2 Others

Per media reports, the officer was stabbed in the hand after seeing the accused man stab two other people at the Five Points train station.

ATLANTA, GA — A man accused of stabbing an officer and two other people was shot by MARTA Police at the Five Points train station Wednesday, according to media reports.

The officer who was injured saw the accused man stab two unidentified people in the bus shelter area around 11 a.m. at the Peachtree Street station, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The man was then accused of charging at the officer and stabbing the officer's hand, the AJC said.

11Alive reported the officer shot his weapon twice. It is unknown how many shots hit the suspect. Both the suspect and the two people who were stabbed are stable with the officer receiving stitches, the outlet reported.
