  1. Yesterday morning, Jan. 9, firefighters put out a massive fire at an Atlanta apartment building. According to a news release from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, the three-story building off Mount Zion Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The news release also stated no one was injured. (11 Alive)
  2. Mayor Andre Dickens and his intergovernmental affairs director Kenyatta Mitchell listed the priorities of his administration. The agenda includes decriminalizing homelessness, stopping statewide interference in Atlanta's airport, pushing against Buckhead cityhood, have Atlanta's transportation commissioner create designated public transit lanes.   3. Georgia State Patrol arrested Siraij Ibrahim, who was driving almost 100 miles-per-hour while in possession of drugs in downtown Atlanta. On Jan. 7, Ibrahim led troopers on a chase that lasted over five miles and allegedly threw a large amount of drugs out of the window. Ibrahim is facing charges of reckless driving, speeding, DUI, open container, felony fleeing, felony possession of schedule II narcotic, felony possession with intent to distribute, felony tampering with evidence and 10 other traffic charges.   4. The Museum of Design Atlanta has a new exhibition called, "Close to the Edge: The Birth of Hip-Hop Architecture," which explores hip-hop in the field of architecture. The installations include a rendering of Atlanta's Trap Music Museum and experimental visualizations. The exhibition is on view through Jan. 29. (Atlanta Magazine)
