Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Extends Several COVID-19 Related Orders

The moratorium on residential evictions in sponsored and funded housing units and housing developments is extended through March.

ATLANTA—Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms reissued Executive Orders to assist Atlanta residents and businesses during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

An Executive Order was reissued to institute a moratorium on residential evictions and filings in sponsored and funded housing units and housing developments, through March 31, 2021. These entities include the Atlanta Housing Authority, Atlanta Beltline Inc., Fulton County/City of Atlanta Land Bank Authority, Invest Atlanta, Partners for Home and the City of Atlanta’s Department of Grants and Community Development.

Mayor Bottoms reissued Orders to extend a directive to the Commissioner of Watershed Management to refrain from taking any action which would result in the termination of water services for any Watershed Management customer due to non-payment through January 31, 2021.

Another Executive Order directs the previously announced Hazard Pay Policy to remain in effect starting January 1, 2021, and continue on a month-to-month basis until:

  • an approved vaccine is readily available to front-line City of Atlanta employees; and/or
  • the City of Atlanta has resumed operation of services through the return of non-mission critical employees to the physical workplace.

An additional Order extends Mayor Bottoms’ directive that the City of Atlanta will continue to refrain from imposing any penalties against individuals or businesses who have unpaid taxes following the April 1, 2020 deadline, with the Order remaining effective through January 31, 2021.
