Here are the top three stories in Atlanta today:
- Atlanta will be building the first virtual reality theater in the world called Megaverse. The theatre will combine the metaverse with VR gaming and film-making. The grand opening was at Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Roswell on Thursday. Up to six players could play games and explore new worlds in the Megaverse at one time. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Police Chief Scott Kreher has been appointed by MARTA to the 21-person Atlanta Public Safety Commission. The group has been tasked with building a public safety plan to deter crime in the City of Atlanta. Chief Kreher leads the Atlanta Police Department during its 17 percent reduction in violent crimes. - The City of Atlanta has opened the fourth round of the Atlanta COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance Program. This round will be distributing $20.2 million in ERAP 1 funds for rent, utilities, internet services, security deposits, and trash removal. The program will no longer be providing mortgage assistance due to new federal guidelines that have been put in place. (SaportaReport)
