Accused Midtown Shooting Gunman Indicted On 17 Charges: Report

A woman was killed, and four other women were injured, in the May 3 shooting at Northside Hospital's Midtown medical facility.

ATLANTA, GA — The accused gunman in the Midtown mass shooting that killed a woman and injured four others on May 3 was recently indicted, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

Last week, a grand jury indicted Deion Patterson, 24, on suspicion of 17 charges that included felony murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, theft by taking and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the outlet reported.

According to Fulton County Jail records, Patterson remained in custody Wednesday.

Patterson was accused of opening fire in a waiting room at a Northside Hospital medical facility, killing 39-year-old Amy St. Pierre and injuring four other women, then prompting a multi-agency hourslong manhunt that ended with Patterson's arrest in the Cumberland area of Cobb County.

Body camera footage from a Cobb County police officer was released on May 17, showing Patterson's arrest near a vacant building.

A second body cam video released the next day by Atlanta Police showed their response to the mass shooting.
