Strong storms should be arriving in metro Atlanta this weekend, starting Saturday afternoon.
ATLANTA, GA — Metro residents could look forward to more rain dropping in this weekend, weather officials told Patch Friday.
Strong storms should be arriving in the afternoon, said Vaughn Smith, meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office.
As it has remained throughout this week, the rainfall is due to moisture coming in from the northwest.

This Afternoon: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind around 10 mph.
Tonight: Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 73. West wind around 5 mph becoming south in the evening.
Saturday: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 103. Light west wind becoming northwest 5-10 mph in the morning.
