Motorcycles Set Ablaze At Atlanta Police Training Academy

Atlanta fire officials said the blaze started early Saturday morning at the building located at 180 Southside Industrial Pkwy.

ATLANTA, GA — Authorities are investigating after several motorcycles parked at the Atlanta Police Academy were intentionally set on fire early Saturday morning.

A spokesperson with Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said crews were dispatched to 180 Southside Industrial Pkwy. shortly before 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a multi-vehicle fire inside the facility's parking deck. According to Google Maps, the address belongs to the Atlanta Police Academy.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered several motorcycles on fire, the spokesperson said. Once the flames were extinguished, authorities located incendiary devices, which are used to start fires, the spokesperson said.
