National Coffee Day: Atlanta is a Hot City for Joe

Americans drink more than 146 billions cups per year, making us the most wired nation on the planet.

National Coffee Day is Thursday, and the personal-finance website WalletHub rolled out its 2016's Best Cities for Coffee Lovers showing Atlanta coming as the nation's 14th best city for coffee lovers.

To determine the best cities for partaking in America’s coffee culture, WalletHub’s number crunchers compared the 100 largest cities across 12 key metrics, ranging from “number of coffee shops, coffee houses and cafés per capita” to “average price of a coffee pack.”

According to a Gallup poll, nearly two-thirds of U.S. adults today drink coffee, and each averages 2.7 cups of joe per day. Some estimates even place Americans in the lead of global coffee consumption, at 146 billions cups per year, earning us the status as the most caffeinated — and wired — humans on the planet.
