New 'Row House' Fitness Studio Opens In Atlanta

Row House, a boutique fitness rowing brand, recently opened in Atlanta. The workout burns calories, activates the core, and more.

ATLANTA, GA — Row House, a popular national boutique fitness rowing brand, has expanded to Atlanta's westside, making it the first Row House in Georgia, the company announced Wednesday. The new studio opened Jan. 16 at 1100 Howell Mill Road. It offers members effective, low-impact and high-energy workouts centered on the rowing machine, or ergometer.

Row House will provide Atlanta’s residents an alternative fitness regimen that focuses on the safety and longevity of their bodies, says the company. Row House has six class offerings – House, Body, Power, Restore, Full Row, and LAUNCH – to accommodate all fitness levels. Utilizing 85 percent of the body’s muscles, rowing maximizes calorie burn, activates the core, strengthens and lengthens the body and ultimately improves posture.

The new location is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Michael Mata. The Midtown resident worked in finance for 30 years. He said he wanted to plan for a future outside of his day job and came across Row House.

It was the "efficiency of the exercise and appeal to people of all fitness levels," that convinced Mata to open a Row House, he said in a news release.

The modern studio welcomes members into an atmosphere centered on comradery and drive, where participants row in-sync on state-of-the-art 'Concept2' rowing machines, said Mata.

It’s the same type of equipment used by Olympic athletes, cardiac rehab patients and more, he said. It’s ideal for those seeking to combine low-impact cardio and strength training into one workout.

“Atlanta residents will soon learn that there’s nothing quite like Row House,” said Mata. “Members are able to fit in both cardio and muscle training in only 45-50 minutes. The energizing and fun workout is low impact, so each member leaves feeling good instead of beaten down.”
