New Study Finds the Most Popular Takeout Food in Georgia
This unsuspecting yet popular food item might surprise you

AROUND ATLANTA – As Atlanta and other areas around Georgia are entering “Phase 2” of reopening, we’re still likely to see lots of restaurants only offering curbside, delivery, and takeout options. Although the state was the first to start offering dine-in services amid the coronavirus pandemic, many customers prefer to stay home and order in until our society returns to some sense of normalcy.
With takeout orders not slowing down, a new study conducted by the team at Simple. Thrifty. Living. takes a look a the most popular takeout foods in the state as well as how much our residents spend on takeout annually. Hometown favorites, Houston’s and The Varsity, can step aside as Korean food was named the most popular type of takeout in the state. As for the top takeout item, Georgia’s number one pick is surprisingly, detox juice. What this sounds like is that many folks in the area are on a health kick and are looking to straighten up their diet while in quarantine.
According to the study, residents in our state spend an average of $1,072 annually on takeout foods. This annual cost lands the state at 17th place in the states that spend the most on takeout.
