Pandora Creating 250 New Jobs In Atlanta
Jobs for the music-streaming giant will include product and engineering, sales, legal and human resources gigs, officials said.

ATLANTA, GA — Pandora, the most popular music-streaming service in the United States, plans to create 250 new jobs in Atlanta over the next three years, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal announced.
The move is an expansion of the Oakland, Calif.-based company's Atlanta presence and will include positions in product and engineering, sales, client services, legal department and human resources.
"Pandora’s investment in Atlanta is a testament to the value of our highly skilled workforce and business-friendly environment for attracting innovative companies," Deal said. "With this expansion, Pandora will benefit from the strategic resources available to digital leaders operating in Georgia, as well as close proximity to our vibrant arts and entertainment communities.

Pandora had said in February that it would be moving some positions to Atlanta as part of a restructuring that saw the company cut 5 percent of its workforce.
Founded in 2000, Pandora was a groudbreaker in the now-crowded world of online music streaming. While it remains the dominant player in the United States with more than 80 million monthly users, Pandora is working to fend off the likes of Spotify, IHeartRadio and Amazon.
Pandora CEO Roger Lynch said Atlanta's booming music and entertainment scene was part of the reason the company is expanding there.
"Atlanta has been home to a wide array of top artists who have both defined and defied genres," Lynch said. "This rich music history, combined with Atlanta’s diverse talent, dynamic startup culture, and extensive higher education community, make it the right place to grow our team. We look forward to expanding our presence in Atlanta and becoming a bigger part of the local community."
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said that the city, like Spotify, "sits at the nexus of music and technology.
The creation of new tech-industry jobs comes as Atlanta remains in the hunt for Amazon's new, second headquarters.
