Man Killed In MARTA Station Shooting Near Georgia State

A suspect was taken into custody after the Tuesday shooting, police said.

ATLANTA, GA — A man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon at MARTA's Georgia State University station, MARTA Police told Patch.

The shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. The name of the person who died was not released.

A shooting suspect was taken into custody, police said. Charges are unknown, and it is unknown what caused the shooting.

The shooting comes two days after four people, including two GSU students, were shot Sunday in the area of John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Courtland Street. One person was in critical condition while three others suffered non-threatening injuries. Atlanta Police have not said if a suspect was taken into custody.
