The man called 911, then began firing when officers arrived at his northwest Atlanta address, police say.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta Police officers shot a man Thursday morning after an hours-long standoff during which they say he fired shots at the officers. The suspect died at the scene.

The standoff happened in the 1400 block of Kennesaw Drive in northwest Atlanta. According to police, the man called 911 at about 2 a.m., saying he had heard a gunshot. When officers arrived, they say, he began shooting at them from his home.
