  1. Channel 2 Action News anchor Jovita Moore was inducted into the Press Club Hall of Fame over a year after her passing. She w an Emmy award-winning T.V. reporter and began working at Channel 2 in 1998. Moore lost her seven-month battle with brain cancer in October 2021. (Atlanta Patch)
  2. Atlanta Board of Education member Jason Esteves resigned from his position on the Board after winning a seat in the Georgia State Senate. Esteves served nine years on the Board and focused on promoting equity and improving the school system's financial outlook. The Atlanta Board of Education is looking for an applicant to fill the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term. (Metro Atlanta CEO)
  3. An explosion flash at a Cobb County construction site left two workers with moderate to severe burns. According to fire investigators, workers were clearing the gas system and were going to light the gas at Candlewood Suites Hotel until the explosion flash occurred. Fire officials are making sure gas levels are safe inside the building. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Atlanta police are searching for a man who damaged windows at a Boost Mobile store after he argued with an unknown woman. Investigators are asking the public to help identify the man, last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and a white shirt. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  5. According to police, a hit-and-run accident killed a woman in Downtown Atlanta. Officials have little information about the incident because there were no witnesses, but they noted the accident occurred before 6 a.m. on Friday at Ted Turner Drive and John Portman Boulevard. (11Alive.com WXIA)
