Woman Accused Of Setting Atlanta Wendy's Fire Released On Bail

ATLANTA, GA — The woman suspected of torching the Wendy's restaurant where Rayshard Brooks died was released Wednesday on a $10,000 bond. She went before a judge via video.

Natalie White, 29, must wear an ankle monitor, must remain on house arrest and has to avoid all social media, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

After she turned herself in Tuesday, protesters gathered that night outside the Fulton Jail. They demanded she be released.

According to WSB-TV, they began arriving around 9:30 p.m. and said that they didn’t agree with Natalie White’s arrest and felt what she’s accused of was just.

Less than an hour after Brooks’ funeral ended, White, 29, was arrested. The sheriff's office tweeted that White was arrested Tuesday afternoon. Authorities believe that she’s one of several people responsible for setting the Wendy’s on fire on University Avenue. White is charged with first-degree arson.

White's attorney Drew Findling told WSB-TV that she's not responsible for the fire. Findling surrendered White to the authorities after having discussed the matter with the Fulton County District Attorney's office since the weekend.
