Here are the top three stories in Atlanta today:

  1. On Saturday, dozens of Atlanta residents gathered at Woodruff Park and marched to the Georgia State Capitol to protest against rising rent rates in the city. Organizers with the Housing Justice League say certain neighborhoods are being targeted for these rent increases, which have often "not kept pace with wages." According to protestors, Atlanta's living conditions have been made "unaffordable" for some residents as they called for an end to Georgia's ban on rent control. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Fire crews worked throughout Saturday evening to battle a large fire at a tire warehouse in southeast Atlanta. Officials say Atlanta Fire Rescue and DeKalb County fire crews were working on the fire at local business Hub Cap Daddy, a one-story building on Moreland Ave. No injuries were reported. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. In Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood, local runners have been participating in a weekly 5K "Park Run," a worldwide event that is inspiring the global running community. If you're interested in joining an enthusiastic group of runners in a race along the northwest portion of the BeltLine, you can join in this free weekly event. Participants meet on Saturdays just before 9 a.m. at Bitsy Grant Tennis Center at 2125 Northside Drive NW. (11Alive.com WXIA)
