Publix, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart: Labor Day 2018 GA Grocery Hours

ATLANTA, GA — Officially, Labor Day is set aside to honor the contributions of American workers, but it also gives us a three-day weekend to recharge, grill out and gather with family and friends. If something is left off the grocery list — drinks, chips, ketchup — that requires a quick trip to the grocery store, where do you go?

Here is a list of Atlanta area grocery stores that will be open, and closed, on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, along with their hours. However, it is always best to call the store and make sure the item you're looking for is in stock.

Nearly every food store in the region — Publix, Krogers, Safeway and Albertsons among others — is open on Monday, with a few hours adjusted for the holiday. Here is the status for Georgia grocery chains, taken from their websites, emails to Patch and the holidayshoppinghours.com website. Some stores may vary.

Grocery Store Hours

• Publix: All stores will be open regular store hours on Monday, most open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers can visit publix.com to verify their store operating hours.
• Kroger: Stores will be open regular hours on Monday, most open from 6 a.m. to midnigh.
• Albertson's: Open normal store hours on Labor Day, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Save-A-Lot: Open regular hours on Labor Day, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Piggly Wiggly: All stores open normal hours on Monday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Winn Dixie: Open normal hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Safeway: Open normal hours, most locations open 5 a.m. to midnight, some open 24 hours a day.
• Trader Joes: Stores will be open normal hours, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Whole Foods: Stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Fresh Market: Stores are open normal hours on Monday.
• ALDI: All stores will be open limited hours on Labor Day. The holiday hours for your local store can be found by using the store locator.
• Costco: All stores are closed on Labor Day.
• Sam's Club: Stores will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Walmart: Stores will be open regular hours.
• Target: Store are open regular hours on Monday.
