ATLANTA, GA — Whether you need more hot dogs for the kids or sides for your barbeque, shoppers need to know if they can get what they need at metro Atlanta grocery stores on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Most food stores in the region — Publix, Krogers, and Albertsons among others — are open on the holiday, but check with individual stores for their holiday hours.

Here is the status for Atlanta area grocery chains, taken from their websites and emails to Patch. Some stores may vary.

• Publix: All stores will be open regular store hours on Monday, most open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers can visit publix.com to verify their store operating hours.
• Kroger: Stores will be open regular hours on Monday, most open from 6 a.m. to midnight.
• Albertson's: Open normal store hours on Labor Day, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Save-A-Lot: Open regular hours on Labor Day, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m..
• Piggly Wiggly: All stores open normal hours on Monday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Winn Dixie: Open normal hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Safeway: Open normal hours, most locations open 5 a.m. to midnight, some open 24 hours a day. Pharmacies will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Trader Joe's: All stores open normal hours on Labor Day, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
