Real Housewife: Racism 'Wasn't All That Real'
WATCH: Kim Zolciak has apologized for comments she made during a reunion taping of the show "Real Housewives of Atlanta" that aired Sunday.

ATLANTA, GA — A cast member of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" was apologizing Thursday after she made comments that appear to make light of racism and its impact.
Kim Zolciak, the only white member of the locally produced reality show's core cast, was recorded during a profanity-laced diatribe against her fellow cast members at the end of the third episode of a four-part reunion special that aired Sunday.
"This whole racism thing in this day in age is bull----. Everyone of those motherf-----s on that couch owe this world a f---ing apology for this racism s---," said Kolciak, the wife of former Atlanta Falcons player Kroy Biermann. "They already tried to claim that s--- long ago ... . Nobody really bought into it then because the social media wasn’t there and racism wasn’t f---ing all that real and you know it."

Speaking to Andy Cohen, host of the Bravo reunion shows, Kolciak also invoked race when talking about the episode, during which cast members were — predictably — pitted against each other to argue over disputes that arose during the season.

"You know why you cannot find another white woman to sit on that motherf---er?" she said, referring to the couch where cast members sat during the episode. "Because nobody's dumb enough to do that."
During the show's most recent season, cast member NeNe Leakes called Zolciak a racist for supporting her daughter, who posted a video supposedly showing roaches in Leakes' bathroom. Leakes' fellow cast members agreed, saying the roaches reference is similar to more commonly acknowledged racial slurs against blacks.
In a statement released by her publicist to Us Weekly, Zolciak said her comments were taken out of context.
"During the last RHOA reunion episode, I made a comment that confused and offended people. I sincerely apologize," she said in the statement released Thursday. "Edited out of context, I understand why my remark angered people.
"Racism is a sad reality in the United States. It has been prevalent throughout our country’s history. Let me be very clear, I do not support, tolerate or put up with any form of racism, hate or other discrimination. My love for all people runs deep — I am open to all and always have been."
Zolciak goes on to say she was "heartbroken" when she watched the segment on television, saying her comments were "made as part of a larger, emotional 45-minute conversation about how, sadly, social media has become a hub for hate."
