WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani is appealing a verdict that ordered him to pay two former Fulton County election workers $148 million in a defamation case, per media reports Wednesday.

Giuliani, who reportedly accused the workers of fraud in the 2020 presidential election, filed the appeal Tuesday, both USA Today and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Wednesday. It is unknown on what grounds the appeal was made.

The workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, have sued Giuliani twice as they maintained he harassed them and spread "false speech."
