Floyd Mayweather Vehicles Attacked, Bodyguard Shot
Mayweather was in another vehicle that was part of a motorcade returning to an upscale Buckhead hotel early Monday, according to police.

The shooting happened shortly after 3 a.m. at the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel on Peachtree Road. Police say the shooting did not appear random.
They say that three vehicles, including one carrying Mayweather, were returning to the hotel from a nightclub on Buford Highway when another vehicle pulled up at the intersection of Peachtree and Highland roads and someone began shooting.

Atlanta Police Department spokesman Officer Donald Hannah said the three vehicles pulled away from the scene and the vehicle from which the shots were fired followed them for a while. After they lost their pursuer, the three vehicles went to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim, whose name had not been released by police Monday morning, was in stable condition, Hannah said.
It was unclear whether the shooting was aimed at Mayweather personally, but police said it was no accident.
"At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle," Hannah said.
Mayweather, who held multiple world boxing titles in five different weight classes, says he is now retired with a perfect 50-0 record. Most recently, he came out of retirement to defeat mixed martial-arts champion Connor McGregor in August. Mayweather reportedly earned more than $300 million from the fight.
