SEC Championship 2019: UGA Takes On LSU Saturday In Atlanta

The No. 4 GA Bulldogs take on the No. 2 LSU Tigers Saturday, in what's sure to be a battle in Atlanta. Here's what you need to know.

ATLANTA, GA — The battle of who is the best in the Southeastern Conference will determine who has bragging rights in the South next season when the University of Georgia Bulldogs take on the Louisiana State University Tigers Saturday in Atlanta for the conference championship.

The second-ranked Tigers come into Saturday's contest undefeated and leading the SEC West, while the fourth-ranked Bulldogs have one season loss to South Carolina on Oct. 12 but still lead the SEC East. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. ET on CBS and will be played in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

According to ESPN.com, LSU has a slightly higher chance of winning the game over UGA due, in part, to having the second-highest scoring team, only behind Ohio State University.

"In that never-ending debate over what's more important - offense or defense? - the Southeastern Conference championship game offers a most compelling match-up," ESPN wrote.

But the last time LSU was undefeated, the Tigers were crushed in the 2011 SEC Championship game against Alabama, who won 21-0 and did not let LSU cross midfield until the closing minutes of the game, ESPN said.
