'Self-Proclaimed Pimp' Arrested After Cobb County Warrant
After a warrant was issued in Cobb County for a man suspected of human sex trafficking, U.S. Marshals found him in Memphis.
COBB COUNTY, GA — The Memphis United States Marshals Service Fugitive Unit arrested Earnest Reed Wednesday after a warrant was issued in Cobb County in October, police said. Reed was described as a self-proclaimed pimp suspected of human sex trafficking young women in several U.S. cities.
The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending Reed. Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Investigators, along with Marshals Task Force members conducted interviews and surveillance of known locations for Reed in the metropolitan Atlanta area and determined that Reed had fled to Memphis, TN.
A request was sent to the United States Marshals Service Memphis Fugitive Task Force to attempt to apprehend Reed in the Memphis area possibly at a friend’s residence located in Memphis, TN.

Reed was transported to the Shelby County, TN Jail and held for extradition back to Cobb County, GA to face charges.
"These charges are extremely serious and it is a great relief to have this predator off the streets," said Sheriff Neil Warren in a news release. "Our participation in the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force has proven to be a great return on investment."
