Several Injured In Atlanta University Center Shooting, Police Say
A large group of people had been listening to a DJ in the area when gunfire rang out, according to Atlanta police.
ATLANTA, GA — Several people were injured in an overnight shooting in the Atlanta University Center area, according to police.
Officers on patrol heard gunfire about 12:30 a.m. Sunday coming from the area of the Robert W. Woodruff Library in the 100 block of James P. Brawley Drive Southwest, police said, adding a large group of people had been listening to a DJ nearby when gunfire rang out.
When they arrived at the scene, officers found multiple shooting victims, three of whom were conscious and alert but were taken to a hospital for further evaluation, according to police. A fourth victim was suspected to have been grazed by a bullet but refused medical attention, police said.

The gathering where the gunfire occurred was a Clark Atlanta University homecoming party, 11 ALIVE reported, adding there are believed to have been two shooters.
The incident remains under investigation.
