Singer Mariah Carey Attends Easter Sunday Service At ATL's Ebenezer

Grammy-Award winner Mariah Carey attends Ebenezer Baptist Church's Resurrection Service on Easter Sunday.

ATLANTA, GA — Guests at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church's Resurrection Service received a special visitor when iconic singer Mariah Carey attended the Easter Sunday observance.

The "Heartbreaker" songstress was featured in a short recap reel of the service posted to the church's Facebook on Sunday.

Ebenezer on Monday also shared photos of Carey with U.S. Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock, senior pastor of the church, and in the congregation. Her two children, which she shares with entertainer Nick Cannon, were seated beside her in the photos.

"What a joy it was to welcome so many of you to Resurrection Sunday at Ebenezer," the church wrote in a post that included photos of Carey with Warnock and her of smiling in the congregation.

"... We were honored to welcome many visitors, including Mariah Carey, who joined us in worship. A meaningful full-circle moment, as (church Music Director) Daniel Moore also serves as her musical director, yet continues to pour his gifts faithfully into the life and sound of Ebenezer."

Carey also shared an image of her and her children with the Easter Bunny on Sunday on Instagram.

Keisha Lance Bottoms, former Atlanta mayor and former member of the Biden administration, attended the service alongside Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, attorney general candidate Tanya Miller and superior court candidate Nikia Smith Sellers, WAGA-TV reported. Bottoms is a current gubernatorial candidate.

Carey formerly lived in Sandy Springs before selling her home in 2023, and has "referenced faith and spirituality in interviews and music," WAGA-TV reported.

She has received five Grammy Awards and was nominated 34 times. Her top hits include "All I Want for Christmas is You," "We Belong Together" and "Obsessed."

Ebenezer was the church home of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The church was founded in 1886 and sits in Atlanta's Sweet Auburn community.
