Some Downtown Connector Exits Closed This Weekend

The Sweet Auburn Festival is going on, and here's what you need to know about the interstates.

ATLANTA, GA – The northbound entrance ramps from Fort Street and John Wesley Dobbs/Irwin Street to I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) will close continuously from 8 p.m., Friday, May 6 until 12:30 a.m., Monday, May 9.

The closure will occur during the 32nd Annual Sweet Auburn Spring Festival 2016.

Motorists who use the entrance ramps must use a detour.

Starting Friday, I-75/I-85 northbound traffic coming from the Edgewood exit to Fort Street will be diverted to turn right on Auburn Avenue, left on Jackson Street, left on Irwin Street and contained in the far right westbound lane to the I-75/I-85 northbound entrance ramp.

Starting Saturday and Sunday, I-75/I-85 northbound traffic coming from the Edgewood exit to Fort Street will be diverted to turn right on Auburn Avenue, left on Jackson Street, left on Ralph McGill Boulevard, right on Boulevard, right on Freedom Parkway to I-75/I-85 northbound or southbound.

Metal barricades will be placed at the exit closures. Local law enforcement will help direct traffic.
