Stacey Abrams Endorses ATL Pastor Raphael Warnock For GA Senate
Stacey Abrams tweeted her support for Atlanta pastor Raphael Warnock's candidacy for the Georgia Senate seat.

ATLANTA, GA — Stacey Abrams tweeted Thursday her support for Atlanta pastor Raphael Warnock, who announced he’s running in the Georgia Senate race. Abrams is the former House Minority Leader for Georgia and 2018 Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Georgia.
She called him a “true ally in our fight for justice,” saying that she’s proud to endorse him for the seat.

Warnock thanked her in a tweet calling the endorsement an honor.

The Ebenezer Baptist Church pastor launched his campaign with a video and a new website Thursday morning. He will run for newly retired Johnny Isakson's Senate seat in the open special election in November.
Gov. Brian Kemp appointed Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler to replace Isakson, who stepped down due to health challenges. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013.

Other Democrats in the race include former state senator and U.S. attorney Ed Tarver, and Matt Lieberman, the son of former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.
Georgia GOP Executive Director Stewart Bragg tells WXIA that Warnock is “too liberal” to represent the state.
"If elected, Warnock would do nothing more than push Stacey Abrams' radical agenda to weaken our border security, jeopardize our healthcare system, and hinder America's economic prosperity. Georgia families will reject his extremism this November."
